A lay-Zen meditation group dedicated to bringing Rinzai Zen practice to the Asbury Park and Jersey Shore area.  We are affiliated with the Cold Mountain Zen Sangha, headquartered at Rutgers University which sponsors sits at various locations around the state of New Jersey.   The Rinzai lineage dates back to 9th century China and continues under the direction of Kankan Roshi Kurt Spellmeyer through Cold Mountain Zen’s weekly group practice, monthly half-day sits, and several week-long retreats (sesshin) each year.
